An introduction to the planned Hail2 components and how they are intended to fit together.
The planned init and service supervision system. Its design covers system startup, service supervision, operating mode transitions and shutdown.
System servicesThe kernel development project. The current starting point is Linux, with the long-term goal of an independent kernel.
KernelThe planned package manager. The intended commands include include, exclude, rod and uptown. Its native package archive extension is .404.
PackagesThe planned central logging component, intended to receive events from Hail2 components and write them to a common log.
LoggingChoose an edition to view its published builds. Only releases explicitly listed by the project will appear here.
Verify release information and checksums before installing a downloaded image. Do not install unofficial builds on systems containing important data.
Hail2 and Dereaded2 are two distinct editions associated with Boiled Microsystems.
The original edition, with a purple visual identity and a from-scratch development direction. HInit and 404PM are planned parts of its architecture.
The alternative Linux edition, using OpenRC and a navy-blue visual identity.
The project separates the roles of the kernel, initialization and service management, package management and logging. The aim is to keep system responsibilities understandable and independently maintainable.
Both editions and their components may be at different stages of development. The Downloads tab is the place to check for official published builds; an empty release list means no builds have been published there yet.
Boiled Microsystems is the independent software development group behind these projects.
